CFL Alumnus Richard Steere Passes

Richard “Dick” Steere a former NFL and CFL guard passed away at the age of 94. Mr. Steere went to Drake University where he was later drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 5th round of the 1951 NFL draft. Steere was later in the same year signed by the Philadelphia Eagles and played in 5 games that season. In 1952, he ventured north and played the 1952 season in Canada for the Edmonton Eskimos. An injury cut short his professional football career. Condolences to his family and friends and may he Rest in Peace.
