Three consecutive Super Bowls
Scott played college football at the University of Georgia, where he holds the records for interception return yards and career interceptions. He was named first team All-SEC defensive back in 1967 and 1968. Scott left Georgia after his sophomore year to play professional football for the Canadian Football Leagues’ BC Lions. In 1970, he was drafted by Don Shula’s (1930 – 2020) Miami Dolphins. Scott helped the Dolphins to Super Bowls VI, VII, and VIII, winning the latter two. He became the first player to recover two fumbles in one Super Bowl game. After six seasons with the Dolphins and amid a falling out with Shula, Scott was traded to the Washington Redskins, where he played for three more seasons. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and the Miami Dolphins Honor Roll.
