CFL Alumnus Jack Lamb Passes

LAMB, John (Jack) Bradley
December 23, 1935 – August 17, 2021

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Lamb on August 17, 2021, at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his three sons: Mike (June), Bart (Marlene), and Trevor (Gail) and two daughters Jackie (Peter) and PJ. He was a loving grandfather to Tarryn, Colin, Martene, Max, Dean, Troy, and Charli, and even a more loving great-grandfather to Tate and Rylee. He is also survived by his close in-laws Larry and Lynda Gillespie as well as numerous other extended family members living across Canada and the United States. Jack was predeceased by his wife and soulmate Linda Lamb (nee Gillespie) in early 2021. Jack was born in Edmonton, Alberta where he has lived most of his life, and has enjoyed his time with his family, many lifelong friendships, and a career in sports and real estate. Jack will be remembered by the many folks that he has crossed paths over his years and most notably for his illustrious sporting career starting with the Oil Kings Hockey in 1953/54, and then ultimately playing CFL Football from 1955 to 1964. Jack played with both the Calgary Stampeders and the Edmonton Eskimos, having won the Grey Cup with the Eskimos during their 1955 victory, and leading to his recognition within the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. Upon completion of his football career, Jack started his real estate career selling homes with MacLachlan and Mitchell Homes and also partaking in various property development opportunities over his 40+yr. real estate career. In addition, throughout their blissful 45 years together, Jack and Linda enjoyed traveling the world and have experienced many life changing experiences from the various countries and cultures. Jack will be missed immensely by his entire family, and most memorable will be the tons of advice that he so liked to provide, but not always followed… We will miss our many “discussions” of life and learnings with Jack.
