More than 30 alumni headed to Toronto for ’96/’97 Grey Cup reunion

TORONTO – On July 24 when the Toronto Argonauts take on the Ottawa REDBLACKS at BMO Field for Monday night football, the Argos will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ’96-’97 back-to-back Grey Cup championship teams.

More than 30 players, coaches and staff from those teams will be celebrated throughout the game, including a special halftime ceremony.


96/97 Reunion Promotions
As part of the celebration of the back-to-back Grey Cup Champions, fans in attendance will get a free Doug Flutie Bobblehead.  The Argonauts are also offering a throwback pricing structure which allows fans to purchase two tickets for $19.97 … Click here for more.


To mark the occasion, the Argos are throwing back ticket prices with a special offer of two tickets for only $19.97. Fans in attendance will receive a Doug Flutie Bobblehead at the gates (while supplies last). The Bobblehead was modeled after the historic photo of Flutie wearing red glass cutter gloves during the ‘Snow Bowl’ Grey Cup in 1996 in Hamilton.

Flutie himself will also attend the game, marking the first time he has returned to Toronto since the 100th Grey Cup in 2012. He will be joined by teammates Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons, Duane Dmytryshyn, Robert Drummond, Chad Folk, Reggie Givens, Johnny Harris, Andre Kirwan, Paul Masotti, Derrell ‘Mookie’ Mitchell, Mike Morreale, George Nimako, Jeremy O’Day, Brendan Rogers, Adrion Smith, Lester Smith, Mike Vanderjagt, Pierre Vercheval and Don Wilson.

All players attending the game will be signing autographs at The Shipyard located in the Ontario Place Parking Lot #2 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
